Plywood Cut List Calculator
Calculate number of plywood sheets needed from a list of required panel sizes.
Panel 1
Panel 2
Panel 3 (optional)
How We Calculate This
Enter up to three different panel sizes with quantities. The calculator uses a shelf-packing algorithm to estimate how many full sheets are needed. It is a conservative "buy at least" estimate — a careful hand layout or a cut-list optimiser may fit your panels onto fewer sheets.
Panels are sorted by height and placed in rows across each sheet, with saw kerf added between pieces. Rotation is attempted if a piece does not fit in its original orientation.
The waste allowance is applied to total panel area, not to the sheet count, so a small job that fits on one sheet is not rounded up to two. The final sheet figure is the greater of the packed sheets and the area-plus-waste requirement, rounded up to a whole sheet.
